Terms of Use
The rules for using OptimizeGIF. They are short, and we've tried to keep them readable.
1. Agreement
By using OptimizeGIF.com ("the service"), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. The service
OptimizeGIF provides free online tools to compress, edit, create and inspect GIF images. No account is required. We may add, change or remove tools, and adjust limits such as maximum file size, at any time.
3. Your files
- You keep all rights to the files you upload and the results you download. We claim no ownership.
- You give us permission to process your files only as needed to provide the tool you chose. Files are deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You confirm you have the right to use and modify the files you upload.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- upload content that is illegal, or that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- upload sexual content involving minors, or content that promotes violence or harassment;
- upload malware or files designed to exploit software;
- overload the service, for example with automated bulk requests or by bypassing rate limits;
- resell or repackage the service as your own, or access it through scripts without our written permission.
We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Availability
We work hard to keep OptimizeGIF fast and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. Keep your original files; we are not a storage service and results are deleted automatically.
6. No warranty
Image processing depends on the input file. We don't guarantee a particular file size, quality or compatibility with a specific platform. Platform limits mentioned on the site are provided for convenience and can change without notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, OptimizeGIF is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data or loss of profits arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Advertising and third-party links
The service is funded by advertising. Ads and links to other websites are provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Our content
The site design, text, guides and code are owned by OptimizeGIF and protected by copyright. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution. Fonts and icons used on the site are open-source and keep their own licenses.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after an update means you accept it. Questions? Use our contact form.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania and applicable European Union law, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
